Committee Description:

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, since its establishment in 1949, has been one of the most ambitious projects of humankind. It is ambitious in its aim of defending the Western world and providing security when necessary. These ambitions are not ordinary; they are neither finite nor inexpensive. Coupled with the multinational nature of NATO, these facts make financing and budgeting NATO a tremendous task. 

In HUTRAIN’25 we will be asking our Ambassadors to tackle the task of creating the NATO budget for 2027. For this purpose, they will work on multiple levels. They must navigate through the burden-sharing principles of NATO and their national interests, foresee the possible new and continuing threats, anticipate and plan for future operations; all while meticulously planning the ordinary allocation of resources that keep the multinational and multilingual colossus that spans continents functioning and ready every single day.
